Milestones
- 1909 - Ahmet Veli Menger commences his business life in the Russian organization of German "Stucken" firm.
- 1913 - Ahmet Veli Menger decides to settle in China.
- 1925 - He establishes his first company in China in order to export wool and fur. He expands his business to 42 branch offices and two refining and processing factories in two different locations during his eleven years stay in China. He begins to export his products to "Melchers" firm in Germany.
- 1937 - Ahmet Veli Menger goes to Europe via Japan and United States after the Japanese occupation of China.
- 1938 - Ahmet Veli Menger immigrates to Turkey from Berlin.
- 1939 - Ahmet Veli Menger opens an office in Karaköy/Istanbul and begins to deal in import-export business.
- 1948 - He receives franchise offers from Bosch and Daimler-Benz companies.
- 1949 - In August he becomes the General Representative of "Daimler-Benz AG” in Turkey.
- 1952 - Ahmet Veli Menger purchases land in Zeytinburnu/Istanbul to establish a service facilty.
- 1953 - "Mengerler Ticaret Türk Anonim Ortaklığı" merges with “Ahmet Veli Menger” company.
- 1955 - Ahmet Veli Menger purchases the Köstemir farm which has an area of 7.500.000 m2 near Silivri. “Gülçin Çiftliği Ziraat Anonim Şirketi”("Gülçin Farm Agriculture and Trade Joint Stock Company") is established in order to commence modern agriculture and animal husbandry business.
- 1958 - "Mengerler Davutpasa Service” is established at Zeytinburnu/İstanbul with the goal of providing after sales services to all Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
- 1965 - “Dizel Magnet Ticaret ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi” (“Dizel Magnet Trade and Industry Inc.”) undertaking the General Representation of Bosch brand is established
- 1966 - Headquarters of “Dizel Magnet Ticaret ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi” is built in Zeytinburnu/İstanbul.
- 1967 - Foreseeing that import of assembled vehicles into Turkey would be restricted, Mengerler Ticaret Türk A.Ş. took steps to establish an assembly plant to manufacture buses and trucks in Turkey. Thus negotiations with Mercedes Benz on this issue which lasted almost 10 years ended. A new joint stock company named Otobüs ve Motorlu Araçlar Sanayi A.Ş. (OTOMARSAN) was founded under the partnership of Mengerler Ticaret Türk A.Ş., Daimler Benz AG and Has Otomotiv Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş.
- 1968 - “Egemer Otomotiv Ticaret Anonim Şirketi” (“Egemer Automotive Trade Inc.”) responsible for a region covering provinces of İzmir, Manisa and Uşak is established.
- 1969 - “Ahmet Veli Menger Holding Anonim Şirketi” (“Ahmet Veli Menger Holding Inc.”) is established.
- 1970 - Negotiations continuing with the Bosch Company since 1960 result in the establishment of Robert Bosch Turk factory that manufactures injection nozzles for vehicles in Bursa. Production of spare parts begins.
- 1973 - “Ankara Motorlu Araçlar” responsible for Ankara,Kırıkkale, and Çorum provinces; “Karadeniz Motorlu Araçlar” responsible for Samsun, Sinop, Ordu and Amasya provinces ; “Akdeniz Motorlu Araçlar” responsible for Adana and Hatay provinces are established.
- 1974 - “Trakya Motorlu Araçlar” responsible for the Edirne, Tekirdağ ve Kırklareli provinces is established.
- 1975 - “İstanbul Motorlu Araçlar “ responsible for the Kocaeli and Sakarya provinces is established.
- 1976 - “Globtur Turistik Tesisleri ve Seyahat Acentası A.Ş.” , established in 1953 is granted IATA certification.
- 1976 - “Sivas Motorlu Araçlar” responsible for the Sivas, Yozgat, Tokat, and Erzincan provinces is established.
- 1977 - “Bursa Motorlu Araçlar” responsible for the Bursa, Balıkesir and Çanakkale provinces is established.
- 1978 - Ahmet Veli Menger passed away and Dr. İzzet İmre was assigned as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
- 1979 - "Tetsan Trakya Elektrik Ticaret ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi" ("Tetsan Thrace Electricity Trade and Industry Inc.") is established as the licensed partner of Swiss company Brown Boveri & Cie and German companies ABL-Sursum and Busch-Jaeger.
- 1979 - "Ölçüsan Ölçü Aletleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş" (Ölçüsan Measuring Instruments Industry and Trade Inc.) factory is established as licensed manufacturer of German companies VDO Adolf Schindling and Mannesman-Kienzle firms.
- 1982 - “Tetsan Trakya Elektrik Ticaret ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi” factory is established and starts production.
- 1984 - Otomarsan Anonim Şirketi commences importing automobiles.
- 1984 - General Representation Duties of “Mengerler Türk Anonim Şirketi” is transferred to “Otomarsan Anonim Şirketi” following the resolution of “Daimler-Benz AG” regarding the unification of all activities thereof under one umbrella in Turkey. The company holds the feature of being its founding partner and biggest dealer.
- 1984 - Veli Ergin İmre becomes the General Manager of Ahmet Veli Menger Holding Inc.
- 1986 - "Otomarsan" starts truck production in Aksaray/Istanbul
- 1987 - The first five-star hotel "Carian Princess" in Muğla's Bodrum county is opened as a part of “Bodrum Internasyonel Otelcilik ve Turizm Anonim Şirketi” (Bodrum International Hotel Management and Tourism Inc.)
- 1987 - "Mengerler Finansal Kiralama Anonim Şirketi”("Mengerler Financial Leasing Inc.”) aiming to provide financial services in the form of leasing for transportation sector is established.
- 1990 - "Tetsan Trakya Elektrik Sanayi Mamulleri Pazarlama Anonim Şirketi” ("Tetsan Thrace Electrical Industry Products Marketing Inc.”) responsible for marketing and import of “Busch-Jaeger" products manufactured by" Tetsan Trakya Elektrik Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş.” is established.
- 1990 - "Mengerler Sigorta Aracılık Hizmetleri ve Anonim Şirketi"(“Mengerler Insurance Brokerage Services Inc.”) which will become one of the biggest insurance agencies of "Anadolu Sigorta” is established with the objective of insuring of all vehicles sold by Ahmet Veli Menger group.
- 1990 - “Otomarsan" name is changed to “Mercedes-Benz Türk Anonim Şirketi”("Mercedes-Benz Turk Inc").
- 1993 - "Mercedes-Benz Türk Anonim Şirketi"; establishes the second bus factory in Hoşdere/Istanbul with 15% partnership of Mengerler Ticaret.
- 1993 - "Mengerler Türk Ticaret Anonim Şirketi Otogar Şubesi" Mengerler Türk Ticaret Inc. "Bus Terminal Branch" to provide after sales services to inter-city buses is established.
- 1998 - “Mengerler Türk Ticaret Anonim Şirketi” sells its shares in the company previously called “Otomarsan Anonim Şirketi”and currently named as“Mercedes-Benz Türk Anonim Şirketi” to Daimler-Benz AG. “Mengerler Türk Ticaret Anonim Şirketi”continues its duties since establishment date acting as the agent for providing sale and after-sale services of Mercedes-Benz products throughout Turkey.
- 1999 - Following the merge of "Chrysler" and "Mercedes Benz" brands, “Mengerler Ticaret Türk Anonim Şirketi " commences to sell Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brand vehicles and provide after sales services at Anatolian part of Istanbul.
- 2001 - "Mengerler Türk Ticaret Anonim Şirketi-İkitelli Service" which will provide services only to heavy vehicles in Istanbul Ikitelli Organized Industrial Zone’s Esenler Industrial Site is established.
- 2003 - "Mengerler Davutpasa HTA Service" with the purpose of serving only light commercial vehicles is established in Zeytinburnu/Istanbul.
- 2003 - "Ankara Motorlu Araçlar Ticaret ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi“ and "Egemer Otomotiv Ticaret ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi" merge with "Mengerler Türk Ticaret Anonim Şirketi" by assignment of the company.
- 2004 - "Karadeniz Motorlu Araçlar Ticaret ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi", "Akdeniz Motorlu Araçlar Ticaret ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi", "Sivas Motorlu Araçlar Ticaret ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi", "Bursa Motorlu Araçlar Ticaret va Sanayi Anonim Şirketi" merge with "Tetsan Trakya Elektrik Ticaret ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi" through transfer and trade name thereof changes as "Mengerler Otomotiv ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi".
- 2004 - A Heavy Vehicle Service facility commences activities in Adana under the name of "Mengerler Türk Ticaret Anonim Şirketi Adana Yeşiloba".
- 2004 - At the end of the year, former bus factory and its premises at Davutpaşa are purchased from Mercedes Benz Türk A.Ş. by Mengerler Ticaret Türk Anonim Şirketi
- 2006 - "Mengerler Türk Ticaret Anonim Sirketi Istanbul Anadolu Branch" is established in the Anatolian part of Istanbul.
- 2006 - Dr. İzzet İmre passes away. Lawyer Halit Sile is assigned as the Chairman of Board of Directors.
- 2006 - "Mengerler Türk Ticaret Anonim Sirketi Milas Branch" responsible for Muğla province and especially its Bodrum and Milas counties is established.
- 2008 - "Mengerler Otomotiv ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi" and "Mengerler Ticaret Türk Anonim Şirketi" merge by assignment. The agents unite under the corporate identity of "Mengerler" as branches after cited merger. Branches with their names in alphabetical order are as follows;

Mengerler Trakya (Trakya Motorlu Araçlar) - 2008 - "Mengerler KA-BO Service" Europe's biggest auto body works-paint center with an area of 8.500 square meters is established in the former bus factory at Davutpaşa, with the objective of providing body and paint works for automobiles, heavy vehicles and commercial vehicles.
- 2008 - "Mengerler Finansal Kiralama Anonim Şirketi" and "Mengerler Ticaret Türk Anonim Şirketi" merge by assignment.
- 2009 - Lawyer Halit Sile passes away and Veli Ergin İmre is assigned as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
